Me on Monday

 

Still feeling a bit out of sorts with no energy, but at least I don't have to work today.  It's been a sleeping in late, breakfast out on the deck, curling up on the sofa and reading sort of morning.  However, this afternoon will be busy;! I'll be moving things around so that I can free up the third bedroom for my friend to store some of her things while she gets her house ready for sale - it'll all be staying there until she moves into her new home so it could be a long term arrangement. It's just as well I got on with the decluttering as I wouldn't have had room otherwise!

 

It was a mixed sort of weekend, busy to start with and then tailing off as I ran out of steam.  I went to Salisbury City Hall to see the comedian, Rich Hall, on Friday night.  I'd bought my ticket months ago and have been looking forward to seeing him - he didn't disappoint! It was a great evening, almost non-stop laughing which did me good.  It was a long, tiring drive home though.

 

Saturday morning was the start of band practice sessions and I really enjoyed myself, even though I had to help out on solo cornet towards the end of the session. My principal instrument is the tenor horn so the smaller mouthpiece of a cornet is a challenge for me, but as most of the cornet players hadn't turned up, I volunteered to help the young girl who was trying to play the main tune on her own.  It was fun to actually play the tune for once ... the horns usually have the harmony or the rhythm.

 

The remainder of Saturday and all of Sunday was spend pottering about at home, catching up on some blog posts, fixing simple meals, trying out some new to me photography techniques, a bit of a tidy up in the garden and plenty of guilt free doing nothing!

 

Tomorrow I start the ten weeks beginners watercolour course which I'm both looking forward to and feeling anxious about at the same time.  I'm sure I'll be alright once it starts and who knows ... maybe this will be the start of a new hobby.
